Twenty Years of Travel: 1996 – 2015
I recently read a piece by Girl vs Globe who, with her 21st birthday fast approaching, mapped the first 20 years of her life by sharing 20 of her family holiday snaps. While my 21st birthday has long since gone (where did the time go!), with this year marking the 20th year of my own travelling odyssey I thought I’d share a photograph from each year in the coming weeks as my ‘Throwback Thursday’ homage to mark the milestone. For me, the journey to my life as a travel writer an

The Art of Travel Revealed
At the end of last year, I introduced my new project, The Art of Travel, as a way for me to expose the beauty of daily around the world through my photography. I’m happy to now announce that I have taken the concept to a higher level with the launch of The Art of Travel Kim Wildman Facebook page. So what is The Art of Travel? The Art of Travel is my way of inspiring people to travel more consciously. Too often when we travel, we’re in such a hurry to see and tick off a predet

Thursday Travel Thought
"Travel is about the gorgeous feeling of teetering in the unknown" ~ Gaby Basora I still love experiencing that feeling of walking into the unknown when travelling after all these years. Sometimes when we travel it’s less about where we are, but more about who we are with. #thursdaytravelthought #romania #theartoftravel #travelphotography #travel #kimwildman

Look at me!
I love this picture. It says so much about what The Art Of Travel is all about. As photographers we need to stop focusing all our attention on what is in the viewfinder and open our eyes to what is around us. Because you just might miss something important! #theartoftravel #photography #travelphotography #kimwildman

The Art of Travel: A new manifesto
I recently decided I needed to shake things up a bit. My blog, Wild About Travel + Writing, has long been sitting dormant and my previous work website was hacked and overtaken porn spammers. (Sorry to anyone who may have received emails soliciting sex toys - I swear they weren’t sent by me!!) My life too has changed much in recent years. After living the life of a nomad and flitting in and out of places as varied as the red, dusty plains of Birdsville in Outback Australia and
